Up and at ‘em, Aries!
Mars, your ruling planet, has a lot to tackle early on in 2020, from broadening cultural horizons (Sagittarius, January 3-February 16) to achieving professional goals (Capricorn, February 16-March 30) and expanding social networks (Aquarius, March 30-May 13). Good thing your energy and enthusiasm are practically unlimited!
But practically is the key word here: With Jupiter in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces (February 20, July 27, and October 12), it's easy to overestimate how much you can handle… and underestimate your need for R&R.
Overdoing it could catch up with you by the time Mars enters Pisces and Jupiter and Neptune station retrograde (May 12, May 14, and June 23). Restore the balance by allowing yourself plenty of downtime and mental health days.
Mars comes home to your sign on June 27 and stays until early 2021. You'll be eager to push forward with a new approach—but not so fast, Aries! With Mars retrograde September 9-November 13, you'll want to conserve your energy.
Career concerns may press on your mind, but try not to use up all your bandwidth on them: Two new moons (June 20 solar eclipse, July 20) and full moons (January 10 lunar eclipse, December 29) in Cancer put family on the front burner this year.
Specifically, with Venus in Gemini April 3-August 7 (retrograde May 12-June 24) and the north node in that sign beginning May 5, relationships with siblings, cousins, and other relatives are a major focus, offering opportunities for personal growth.
Communication is key, and with Mercury in Cancer May 28-August 4 (retrograde June 17-July 12) there's likely to be some tense family meetings or heart-to-heart talks. Practical concerns such as childcare, eldercare, and division of household duties carry an extra emotional charge. Watch out for hypersensitivity or nostalgia for the past that could block honest, constructive dialogues from taking place.
After all, Aries, whatever else you've got going on, family comes first.
Strike while the iron is hot, Aries!
You've never been shy about making the first move. Still, you've got to seize your moment—and with Venus transiting your sign from February 7-March 4, it comes early this year. Not only are you at your most irresistible, everyone's feeling fun and fiery! Sparks are sure to fly… but also likely to burn out quickly.
Don't sweat it, though: It's just a preview for the real fireworks, which begin around the new moon in Leo (August 18) and continue as Venus transits Leo (September 6-October 2). Single or taken, you can expect more creativity, passion, and spontaneity to heat up your love life!
The energy is electrifying—but also unsettling, especially if you're in a committed relationship. Game-changer Uranus remains in Taurus all year, challenging comfortable assumptions and massively upgrading your self-love, self-worth, values, and desires. Tensions may arise between the physical side of relationships and the emotional, psychological, or spiritual side. Yes, it is possible to balance and integrate the two—but this can be an intense process, not for the faint of heart!
Fortunately, Aries, “faint of heart” has never been your thing. You're fearless and flexible enough to handle any curveballs love throws your way.
Just remember to handle communications with care. True, actions speak louder than words. But with Venus spending extra time in chatty Gemini this year (April 3-August 7, retrograde May 12-June 25), what you say and how you say it are equally important.
From September 5 through December 1, Mercury splits his time between Libra and Scorpio, giving you and a loved one plenty of time to go deep and talk out your most fundamental relationship issues. Sex, money, energy exchanges, power dynamics—no topic is off-limits, and everything is on the table.
Just don't expect to solve all your problems at once. With Mercury retrograde in Scorpio and Libra from October 13-November 3, it'll take more than one heart-to-heart to get the two of you seeing eye-to-eye.
How do you spell “success,” Aries?
Since Uranus moved into Taurus last year, you've had to rethink your old definitions and reimagine what prosperity looks like here and now. And as this long-term transit continues, finances remain in a state of flux. But here's the silver lining: Uranus' unpredictability has forced you to get creative with your money management. Now you know that you can support and sustain yourself, no matter what. And with 2020's long-awaited Capricorn transits happening in your career house, that's a valuable asset!
By now, Aries, Pluto in Capricorn has helped you to see that overly ambitious, workaholic ways are no longer working for you. To achieve the results you want, you'll have to start from scratch—and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction on January 12 sends you back to the drawing board.
Jupiter also aligns with Pluto this year (three exact conjunctions: April 4, June 29, and November 12). As the wheel of fortune spins, some forces are beyond your control. Maintaining a positive outlook won't always be easy, but it's well worth the effort if it helps you transform your circumstances—or at least weather the ups and downs.
If attachment to former goals, roles, or accomplishments is keeping you from seeing your way forward, the Capricorn full moon/lunar eclipse on July 4 helps you to release and free up that energy for new endeavors. You may find yourself between projects, jobs, or even careers—not the most comfortable feeling for you, we know! If possible, though, avoid jumping at the first thing that comes your way. By early October, when Venus enters Virgo, the options should be more plentiful and much more appealing.
Jupiter and Saturn meet up in the early degrees of Aquarius on December 21. As the year draws to a close, you're busy building new professional networks and learning how to be more of a team player. This may cramp your style, Aries, but trust us—it's the only way to get ahead!
